ANECA and AVANZA Foundation sign an agreement to promote the development of high intellectual capacities in Spanish universities.
ANECA, the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation, and AVANZA Foundation, a private entity specializing in the comprehensive care of the group with High Intellectual Abilities, signed an agreement this past Friday, March 18, that will allow them to begin to provide specific attention to the group of university students with high intellectual abilities. This is the first Agreement in Spain that focuses on this group. Thus, starting in the next academic year 2022-2023, AVANZA Foundation will be able to launch the DACIU Program. DACIU is the acronym for the program for the Development of High Intellectual Abilities at the University. In this first edition, it will have the support of ten universities, selected in response to the avalanche of requests for collaboration. Avanza Foundation and ANECA working for high intellectual abilities.
On Tuesday, November 30, the second meeting between ANECA and the Avanza Foundation took place to progress in joint collaboration with the aim of creating support processes for students with high intellectual abilities in the Spanish university system. From the Avanza Foundation, its president, Alberto Flaño, reported on the progress of the DACIU Program (Development of High Intellectual Capacities at the University), the schedule planned for its first edition and the contacts maintained with universities and companies that will participate in the Program. The terms of an agreement between the two institutions were agreed upon, as well as other possible collaborations in the educational field with Aula ANECA.
