Opinions of DACIU participants

To the attention of the DACIU program:

I am immensely grateful that the Avanza Foundation has brought the DACIU program to my university, allowing me to start my career as a researcher on the right foot.

What was going to be just a scientific article, has ended up being a Final Degree Project, an article for the XXXIX National Symposium of the International Scientific Union of Radio, and finally the article for DACIU.

The DACIU program has shown me my true calling: scientific research. From the pre-research phase to the final presentation of results, thanks to the DACIU program I have had a wonderful experience.

I encourage all those interested to enter into research activity.

I look forward to continuing to be involved with the Avanza Foundation in the future.

To the attention of the DACIU program:

First of all, I would like to thank the Avanza Foundation, the DACIU programme and those responsible for this programme at the University of the Balearic Islands for the opportunity they have given me to live this experience, especially Sara Bagur for contacting me and introducing me to DACIU.

I would also like to thank the research team I participated with (Maribel Montañez and Silvia Ortiz) for their mentoring. I would especially like to mention how essential the help and support of my tutor, Maribel Montañez Juan, has been, who has guided me throughout the entire process.

As a student, this project has been a great opportunity to carry out tasks that go far beyond those provided by the university course itself. The research I collaborated on dealt with a very current topic of great personal interest, so it was a great pleasure to be able to participate in it. It covered many aspects such as literature review, constant communication with the tutor and other researchers, data collection and analysis, searching for relationships between variables, writing a scientific article, etc. What I have learned this year thanks to this great opportunity has been incredible.

Furthermore, I have been given the opportunity to participate in the first International Online Psychology Congress CIPSICO 2024, where I have been very lucky to be able to present our article entitled “TEAM EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND COMMUNICATION & COLLABORATION DIGITAL COMPETENCE: COMPARING FACE-TO-FACE VS. VIRTUAL COMMUNICATION SETTINGS”. I would like to thank Alberto Flaño, director of the DACIU program, and those responsible for the program at the UIB for financing my participation in the congress. I would also like to thank my tutor for having introduced me to the Congress and the opportunity to present our research. Therefore, it has been a very enriching experience both on a personal and academic level, because it has allowed me to see how far research can go and to learn from the many other presentations that participated in the congress.

In short, the DACIU program has been a very enriching and interesting experience. I couldn’t have had a better tutor to help and motivate me so much throughout the course. For all these reasons, I would like to encourage all students who know about this great project to participate.

Thanks again for everything,

Claudia Gina Forteza Domenici.

DACIU PARTICIPANT OPINION
To the attention of the DACIU program

I would like to express my support for the initiative carried out by the AVANZA Foundation, which in the 2022-2023 academic year launched the DACIU programme at Spanish universities. It did so with the support of the then director of ANECA, Dr. Mercedes Siles Molina, who, as the visible head of the agency that evaluates us as researchers, considered it essential that among the activities of university professors was to attend to that part of the student population with high intellectual capacities that carries out learning processes different from the average. The common starting point of those of us who embarked on this programme was that being aware of the existence of this group and not giving them the opportunity to apply these qualities inside and outside the classroom meant running the risk as a society of losing some of our best researchers and scientists of the future.

I say all this with experience to back it up. The student I teamed up with in the 2022-2023 academic year was a third-year student of a Bachelor’s Degree in Hispanic Philology who wanted to drop out of the degree because she didn’t find it interesting. She was bored. At that time she was not diagnosed with high abilities, nor did she even suspect it. She considered herself strange, different from her colleagues in the classroom. Her participation in the DACIU program not only made her aware that her oddities were more normalized aspects in another spectrum, but it also led her to improve her self-esteem and explain behaviors and conduct from her childhood that had negatively impacted her self-perception. During the course she carried out excellent work from the beginning of research. She discovered that philology is not only what is taught in class, but what is taught is essential for the next level. Her work that year in the program was above her and my expectations (she drove me crazy the whole course), in addition to fulfilling her subjects brilliantly. Today he is one of the best students of his class.

At the beginning of this course I encouraged her to apply for the University of Malaga’s collaboration program with Dickinson College, which offers two annual positions to work as a Spanish teacher for undergraduate students at the university in Philadelphia. The student got one of the positions. In a few days she will leave for the United States in a process that I know will be a new challenge disguised as an adventure and an open window to excellent opportunities for both her and the students she has at her destination.

This experience makes me wonder how many young people like her have we lost in our classrooms along the way, thinking they were weird and that the university had nothing to offer them. I hope that Spanish universities will make a firm commitment to supporting this group, as well as others who also have different ways of learning. In the meantime, congratulations to the Avanza Foundation for its initiative and determined drive.

First of all, I would like to thank the institutions and people who have made this experience possible.

I believe that as a teacher it is a unique opportunity to be able to work with students with great potential and to accompany them in their initiation into research. As well as being able to delve deeper with the students into the different areas of knowledge that concern us.

On a personal level, it has been a very enriching experience, which has allowed me to meet extraordinary people and learn from them while sharing my knowledge with them. We have been able to build a team work that has been valuable for both parties and very rewarding.

I hope to continue participating in this initiative and that we will become more and more teachers, students and institutions. I can only encourage the rest of the teachers and students to participate. And thank you again for this opportunity.

To the attention of the DACIU Program,

I feel that DACIU has given me an incredible opportunity to better discover myself and my abilities, while also being able to meet inspiring people who have always tried to support me and provide me with as much knowledge as possible. This past school year, I have been able to learn a little bit more about how the world of research works and how I can enter it; which has been a very enriching experience for me.

Something very positive to highlight about the program is the constant concern on the part of the organizers to provide us with information and resources that can be useful not only for our participation in DACIU, but also for our future.

With this letter, my main objectives are to thank the organization and also to encourage future students. I went into the first edition without having any opinion to guide me, but I do not regret it because it has helped me a lot to grow on a personal and professional level. So if you are a possible future DACIU participant, I hope that my words will help you decide to send the application that I assure you will give you a great experience.

Finally, many thanks to the Avanza Foundation for DACIU and to all the people who have made it possible for me to take away much more than a nice memory of this unforgettable opportunity. I would like to thank all those who have made the program succeed as it has and those who have given me the opportunity to participate in it.

Through this letter, I would like to express my opinion on the first edition of the DACIU program as a student at the University of Granada.

In my case, my research was carried out within the field of Physics and Mathematics. I must highlight that it has been a very enriching experience, as it has allowed me to delve deeper into the world of research and get to know it better. I would also like to thank the entire DACIU team for their constant willingness, flexibility and desire to provide me with the necessary help to develop my project, as well as the great usefulness of the training talks, which have allowed me to learn more about what AACCII consist of and how to manage them.

With all this, I would like to give my sincere congratulations to the entire team, and I strongly recommend that all students who are hesitating give it a try.

Thank you so much.

Through this letter I would like to encourage participation in DACIU in order to contribute to the good academic and personal performance that this experience offers to all of us.

Firstly, it has allowed me to discover a new field of research, which I would like to continue to explore in this second edition, as well as a research group where I have been able to find knowledge, experience and a future professional researcher.

In my personal opinion, participating in DACIU is a very enriching experience where I have been able to develop new skills and strengthen those I already had. With the support of my tutor and that of DACIU I have been able to resolve my concerns until I was able to send the article in April. The professionals who are in this program are a reference in their fields and a source of inspiration for me. For future students, I would recommend being able to advance in the summer on the use of Latex to optimize time during the course.

Finally, I would like to thank the existence of these types of opportunities for our development and the time that the professionals in the program dedicate to carry out our projects. For me it is an honor to participate in the next edition and to be able to continue deepening my knowledge and as a person.

Thank you so much.

To the attention of the DACIU Program,

As a teacher in this first edition, I would like to congratulate and sincerely thank all of you who have made it possible with so much generosity, dedication and hard work.

It has been a pleasure to team up with the student of Double Degree in Law and International Relations from the Rey Juan Carlos University (Madrid), Adepeju OA, whose high performance has allowed us to be pioneers in lifting the ban on the presentation of articles. Although we have come a long way together, there is still much to be done for all those university students who have not been able to be identified as AACC or assisted.

Without further delay, strength and encouragement for this second edition.

Thank you very much. I remain at your disposal.

To the attention of DACIU Program.

The reason for this letter is based on the request to continue in the program, in this case, as a student at the University of Granada.

First of all, I would like to point out the great interest with which I make this request due to the contact with research that I had last year. Likewise, this participation has made me rediscover my research vocation and my decision to continue my professional career in this field that is as exciting as it is unknown.

On a personal level, previous experience has enriched my growth to the point of discovering new facets of myself. This includes the ability to be consistent and work hard, when the source of motivation is so great that it encompasses my main interests.

Likewise, the professionals who are in this program are a reference in their fields and a source of inspiration for me. Likewise, the training we are provided with, the foundation of which began last year, is based on a wide variety of activities and knowledge.

On the other hand, the fact of being able to submit this application again is already a source of pride and gratitude for the opportunity to gain access and be able to demonstrate the potential that I possess.

Without further ado, I say goodbye, thanking you for your attention.

Receive a cordial greeting.
